British sailor Jeanne Socrates is attempting to set the record for being the oldest woman to sail solo non-stop, unassisted, around the world. This inspirational lady is also aiming to be the first woman to sail solo nonstop, unassisted, around the world from North America.
The good news is, she is almost there! Jeanne sails Najad 380 numberĀ 82, built in Sweden and launched in HambleĀ 2009. Jeanne set sail in October 2018 and celebrated her 77th birthday in August 2019. She is due to complete her circumnavigation in September 2019.
