Why relocate your yacht?

In this period of uncertainty, both with Brexit and COVID-19, the opportunity to relocate your Arcona or Najad back to the UK from overseas is increasingly becoming appealing. Let’s face it, never has there been a more desirable time than now to escape out sailing!

Whether you’re unable to travel to where your Arcona or Najad is located due to COVID related travel restrictions, you simply want to get out on your yacht here in the UK so need to get it back to Britain from abroad or you wish to bring your Arcona or Najad back to be able to sell, SE Yachts are here to help you.

With the RYA and British Marine advising that to avoid paying post-Brexit import duty on your yacht you should bring your Arcona or Najad back to the UK before 1st January 2021, the time to move is now.

SE Yachts recently brought a Najad 380 back from Greece to the UK for a customer and we were keen to make the process as smooth as possible. From the point where the customer signed, within weeks Tantrum was en route to England ready to go on the market.

Reynold Peterson, owner of the Najad 380, Tantrum, was delighted with his experience of SE Yachts.

He said, “I’ve owned our Najad 380 for many years and she’s really become part of the family, so it was quite a difficult decision to decide to sell her, but the right one to make.

I can’t fault the SE Yachts team’s service. They listened to the challenge, explored various options, explained things thoroughly and, basically, took the hassle away for me by managing the entire process of bringing my Najad back to England. Customs, duties, timings – all sorted. It was a great to know everything was in hand.

From the point that I said yes, they organised the paperwork, sorted out delivery crew, kept me informed throughout, ensured everything was in order for the shipping, and within no time Tantrum was storming her way towards Palma de Mallorca ready to join other boats relocating by ship to the UK safely and securely.

Alasdair and I talked through work that needs to be done to prepare her for sale. By having that service work done in the UK by SE Yachts, I know the job will be in safe hands, done to brief, on time and be in the best place for the next family to enjoy her for many years to come.”

If you would like to bring your Arcona or Najad back to the UK in advance of the 1st January 2021, contact Alasdair or Simon now on info@seyachts.com or call +44 (0)2380 457 770.
