Arcona x RORC Caribbean 600

The Arcona 435 Mk II, Ohana crew are taking on a new challenge following their class winning success in the 2024 Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC). Owner, Ken Wisdom, has set his sights on the mighty RORC Caribbean 600 which starts on 24th February and will finish with a well deserved prize-giving party on 28th February.

Together with Ohana‘s owner, the crew of eight includes SE Yachts Director and accomplished sailor, Simon Rosier, and former Arcona Yachts CEO and Olympic sailor, Urban Lagnéus. They are all well-equipped to handle the Arcona in the classic Royal Ocean Racing Club’s non-stop 600nm race.

Known as the premier offshore race in the Caribbean, the race starts and finishes just outside Jolly Harbour in Antigua with a course that weaves around eleven spectacular islands in the central Caribbean. In 2024, Sixty-four boats took on the challenge, with 561 sailors from all over the world competing. They had a glorious start with tradewinds pumping up to 17 knots prevailing for 48 hours. Towards the end of the race, more unstable weather conditions produced a complex and tactical battle with wind reports ranging from flat calm to 30 knots in squalls.

Ohana will be in IRC 1 and is one Arcona 435 Mk II rigged and ready for some fun on the racecourse.
