We are delighted to announce that the Arcona 50 has won European Yacht of the Year Luxury Cruiser 2024!
On the first evening of boot Düsseldorf, Saturday 20th January, the European Yacht of the Year award winners were announced in a fabulous awards ceremony. The judging panel met four times over 2023 to decide which yachts to shortlist and test. The panel is made up of journalists from the most prestigious yachting magazines across Europe, including Yacht Germany, Praktiskt Båtägande, Yachting World, Vene, Seilmagasinet, Voiles & Voiliers, Baadmagasinet, Nautica y Yates, Zeilen, Vela e Motore, Yacht Revue & Marina.Ch. It was an honour for the Arcona team to go sailing with each of the journalists in October in La Rochelle.
On testing the Arcona 50, Toby Hodges of Yachting World said, “The 50 is fast to find its groove and boasts plenty of grip…This is a sparkly new addition to the luxury performance cruiser market, and one that’s been executed very well. Its looks are backed up by high build and finish quality and performance on the water. While I doubt it’ll be raced (like the smaller Arconas often are), or will suit typical bluewater use, it offers a purity of performance pushbutton sailing. Where the Arcona is a handsome prospect upwind in a light breeze, it transforms into a powerful reaching machine with stacks of control.”
If you are seeking luxurious cruising comfort with fast sailing performance that is easy to handle shorthanded, plus a boat that will stand out from the crowd, the Arcona 50 is the yacht for you. On judging the 4 yacht shortlisted in the luxury cruisers category, Chairman of the jury, Jochen Rieker said, “We can only choose from the very best boats.” and Arcona is proud to be shortlisted with such esteemed company. Congratulations to all shortlisted in the European Yacht of the Year.
The Arcona 50 is in the luxury cruiser category of the European Yacht of the Year and this model is not only the first 50-footer by Arcona Yachts but the first Arcona by Jeppesen & Pons – and has proven to be a real head turner already.
The Arcona 435 Mk II won European Yacht of the Year in the Performance Cruiser category in 2019 and continues to be one of our bestselling models.
