New Najad 451 AC to make her UK premiere at Southampton

The best yacht, Najad has always argued, is the one built around how you sail rather than the other way around. This September, British sailors can judge that philosophy for themselves, as SE Yachts brings the new Najad 451 AC (Aft Cockpit) to the UK for the very first time at the Southampton International Boat Show.

It is a genuine milestone. Not only is this the UK premiere of the model, it is the first Najad to appear on display at Southampton in over five years, marking the return of one of Sweden’s most respected bluewater brands to the show.

What sets the 451 AC apart is choice. Where most production cruisers arrive with the rig the yard chose for them, Najad builds to the owner’s specification, so she can be set up with in-mast furling, in-boom furling, or a full-batten mainsail on a Park Avenue boom, depending on how and where you intend to sail. For a couple sailing shorthanded and crossing oceans, or an experienced crew chasing sail shape and upwind performance, the answer is simply the one that suits them.

That thoughtful, sailor-led approach has already been recognised. Earlier this year the 451 AC took the Top Yacht 2026 award from German sailing magazine Segeln, judged by an expert panel with a clear focus on practical cruising and offshore ability. As part of the process the panel carried out extensive onboard inspections and sea trials, assessing her sailing characteristics, onboard functionality, craftsmanship and overall suitability for long-distance cruising, before recognising the blend of Scandinavian seaworthiness, comfort and design that has long defined the marque.

Below decks she is every bit the refined long-distance cruiser. A light-filled, handcrafted mahogany interior sleeps six across three cabins, while a large twin-helm cockpit and push-button sailing throughout make her as rewarding to handle as she is to live aboard. Built in vacuum-infused sandwich construction with the bluewater pedigree of more than 2,000 Najads before her, she is equally at home social cruising or island hopping.

“We are thrilled to be showing the Najad 451 AC in the UK for the first time. She is a beautifully built, seriously capable yacht, and having a Najad back on display at Southampton after more than five years is a real moment for us and for the many British sailors who love Najad yachts,” said Simon Rosier, Director of SE Yachts.

A representative from Najad’s head office in Sweden will also be present during the show and available for interviews and specification discussions (dates and times to be confirmed).

Visitors can find SE Yachts on the water in the marina from 18 to 27 September. The Arcona 435 Mk II, the Delta 33 Coupé and two NAVAN boats will also be on display.
